Terms of use

Pre-release draft · Updated July 19, 2026

Not yet operative. Replace [LEGAL PUBLISHER NAME], choose the final commercial license, and obtain legal review before accepting payment.

Agreement

These terms would govern use of Holdline supplied by [LEGAL PUBLISHER NAME]. Microsoft Store terms also apply to acquisition, payment, licensing, updates, and returns through the Store.

License and ownership

The current public source repository is licensed under MIT. Before sale, the publisher must decide whether customer binaries remain MIT-licensed or use separate commercial terms. Third-party components remain governed by their own licenses and notices; nothing here limits rights granted under those licenses.

Acceptable use

You are responsible for having permission to capture speech and for reviewing text before relying on it. Do not use Holdline to violate law, another person's rights, workplace policy, or security controls.

Accuracy and availability

Speech recognition can be wrong. Do not rely on unreviewed dictation for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, authentication, or emergency decisions. Features, supported hardware, and system requirements are described on the current Store listing.

Warranty and liability

The final terms will include limitations appropriate to the publisher's jurisdiction and applicable consumer law. No draft limitation overrides rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Termination and changes

The final terms will explain termination, updates, and the law and forum governing the agreement. Material changes will be dated and published before they take effect.
