This policy describes the current Holdline desktop app. It must be reviewed with the final legal publisher details before public sale.

The short version

Holdline processes dictation on your Windows PC. The app has no Holdline account, cloud speech service, advertising, or product telemetry. It does not send voice or dictated text to Holdline.

Microphone and dictated text

Microphone audio is processed in memory by speech models bundled with the app. Holdline does not write captured audio or transcripts to disk. The most recent transcript can remain in memory so you can use the re-paste command; it disappears when Holdline exits.

Data stored on your device

Holdline stores preferences, selected microphone information, and custom words you deliberately add under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Holdline. You can delete this data by removing that folder after exiting or uninstalling Holdline.

Diagnostics

Diagnostics are created only when you choose to copy or export them. They contain configuration and health information, not captured audio or dictated text. Review a diagnostic report before sending it to support because device names or system details may identify your environment.

Network activity and the Store

Dictation does not require a network connection and the app does not download speech models after installation. Microsoft Store may independently process purchase, licensing, crash, download, and update information under Microsoft's policies. That processing is operated by Microsoft, not Holdline.

Children and sensitive use

Holdline is a general productivity tool and is not directed to children. Avoid dictating information where local device access, the active application, or your organization's rules make that inappropriate.
